The 2018 calendar was full of national and local senior living conferences and engaging industry events. With more than 2,000 educational sessions submitted, Meyer was selected to speak at the 2018 LeadingAge Annual Meeting & Expo. Meyer’s curated panel featured national industry experts on the increasingly important topic of sustainability and wellness in senior living. Furthermore, the Meyer team took a deeper dive into how a senior living community operates. Their inquisitive and exploratory sleepover study looked at the effect that the design of a space has on its residents and staff.

Over 8,000 dedicated aging services professionals came together in Philadelphia for the 2018 LeadingAge Annual Meeting and Expo. This premier event in senior living provided a platform for attendees to exchange ideas, explore new strategies and master the latest best practices. The Meyer Senior Living Studio was on full display throughout the 3-plus day conference. Meyer’s Director of Senior Living Interiors Shannon Remaley, NCIDQ, LEED GA and Senior Designer, Allie Thompson, traveled to Savannah, GA to attend the 2018 Environments For Aging (EFA) Conference & Expo to take in the latest trends in senior living design, as well as thought provoking presentations on Ageism, Memory Care, and Environments for the Generations. Meyer Designers at Sleepover

Sleepover Study

The Meyer Senior Living Studio held a sleepover at one of our newest communities, Arbor Terrace Morris Plains, in Morris Plains, NJ. Shannon Remaley, Director of Senior Living Interiors, with Jenny Bauder and Karen Schlegel, Interior Designers, spent a day and a half at the community which opened its doors in May 2017. After a full year of lease-up and stabilizing occupancy, the Meyer team was able to acquire valuable insight and feedback from staff on the day-to-day operations and from residents on what it’s like to live and be apart of the community.
